Update May 22, 2009

Thanks to your faithfulness we truly are building for tomorrow. The first step in increasing our parking spaces is well under way. We broke ground on April 13; started to remove the houses on May 1st they were completely removed within a week.  Our next step was approval from the California Fish and Game Department to move forward with the construciton. Fish and Game approved our project and on May 21 we received our permit for construction from the Town of Danville. Grading of  the property and building the parking lot will now begin.

Other IMAGINE activities:

  • We have received $2.093,113 of the $7,129,113 that was pledged to IMAGINE. Praise God and thank you for your sacrificial gifts! This paved the way for our construction loan.
  • Our short term construction loan of $4,000,000 was approved by Heritage Bank.
  • The first distribution of $33,334 from  the $500,000 IMAGINE Missions component was provided to Macedonian Outreach. (Much more on this will be in the June issue of CPC's newsletter, CPC ALIVE.

  • To make room for the Chapel restoration, work is progressing on the new Library and Book Store which will be located off the Multi-Purpose Room.
  • The upper and lower kitchen are being restructured to replace the Technical Arts workspace they will lose when the Chapel is restored.

Parking lot construction this summer will be completed in phases. During each phase portions of our existing parking will not be available; however, parking will remain available in those portions not under construction. (See  illustration below)  Phase 1A is adding the new parking lot across the street.  Work on this lot will not impact parking in the other lots.  You will be provided advanced warning prior to beginning construction on Phase 1B and 1C. This will include dates these portions of the parking lot will be closed and directing you to the best places to park.
We praise God for His faithfulness and for bringing us to this major step forward in our IMAGINE project.
