History of CPC
Our church has a rich history which dates back to the 1850s in the merging of two small Presbyterian churches in the San Ramon Valley.

Community Presbyterian Church with new Sanctuary 1979

In 1969 Fellowship Hall was completed and we had a place to meet after worship services. As our congregation increased, we outgrew the Sanctuary (the present Chapel) and services were held in the Fellowship Hall.

In 1979 our current Sanctuary was completed. In 1982 the Ministry Center was built and in 1988, the Equipping Center.

2008 CPC

CPC has also had renovations in its worship format. Our congregation grew so large, some of our members planted a new church, the San Ramon Presbyterian Church, in 1997.

In 2002, we launched a new venue in the Multi-Purpose Room. At the Video Cafe one can have Starbucks and pastries while watching the sermons on video.

In 2005 we added a satellite campus, CPC@Tassajara, which meets at Diablo Vista Middle School in the Tassajara Valley.

We curerntly have one Saturday night service, and on Sunday, two Sanctuary services, two Video Cafe services and one CPC@Tassajara service!

The Future - Just Imagine!

After years of studying various options and committing our plans to prayer, CPC's leadership believes that the new facilites plan reflects our understanding of God's call to our church. We further believe that if we step out in faith, the Lord will bless our Capital Stewardship Ministry with the resources needed to complete this plan.
